Pond Ash is collected from the ash settling ponds of thermal power plants where fly ash slurry is hydraulically discharged and allowed to settle. It has a coarser particle size than classified dry fly ash and contains a mix of fine and coarse ash fractions.
TSG Impex supplies processed and graded Pond Ash for a variety of geotechnical, construction, and manufacturing applications — providing a sustainable alternative to quarried materials while enabling complete ash utilisation from power plants.
Significantly cheaper than quarried granular materials — ideal for large-volume earthwork and fill projects.
Lower unit weight (1.0–1.4 g/cc) reduces dead load on structures and improves settlement performance.
Moderate permeability makes it suitable for drainage blankets and sub-base layers in pavements.
Mild pozzolanic character gives pond ash a degree of self-cementation over time, improving strength of compacted fills.
Diverts industrial waste from landfill, reducing environmental burden of thermal power plants.
Non-plastic, non-swelling — stable under load with predictable compaction behaviour.
Test reports and batch certificates are available on request with every consignment.

No — fly ash is dry-collected from ESP/bag filters and is finer and more uniform. Pond Ash is the coarser, mixed fraction that settles in slurry ponds. It has lower pozzolanic reactivity but is excellent for geotechnical and bulk fill applications.
Not directly as a pozzolan in structural concrete due to coarser particle size and variable composition. However, it is used in stabilised sub-base concrete and brick manufacturing.
Pond Ash is typically supplied in bulk — open tipper trucks or loose bulk for large earthwork projects. Minimum order quantities apply for long-distance supply.
Pond Ash from well-managed sources meets leachate standards for construction use. Test certificates confirming heavy metal content and leachate parameters are provided on request.
Pond Ash is spread in 300–450 mm layers and compacted with vibratory rollers at optimum moisture content (typically 22–26%). Field density testing confirms compaction quality.
